I recently received my PhD in Critical Studies from the School of Cinematic Arts at USC. My dissertation focused on the demographic, representational, and scholarly "revenge" of the fanboy within convergence culture, and the marginalizing impact this has had on fangirls. Consequently, I'm always interested in debates around gender and technology, and deeply invested in protecting fans' legal rights to create transformative works. I'm also on the board of Transformative Works and Cultures, an open access, peer-reviewed journal.
